I did not know Vinny personally but I am dear friends with Vinny senior (and Carol) and I know the wonderful things his children have done from the many conversations we have had. My deepest sympathies and love to the Nasta family.

Vinny, you were not only my flight instructor and mentor but you were also a great friend. It was an honor to be able to lead you around the sky at the Ft Drum airshow this year. I had such great times with you at the shows that we went to together and will never forget those memories. Godspeed.

Vin, you graced our little "garage band" with your presence for way too short a time. However, your impact and passion for the music kept us striving to be better with each note. I'll never forget when we worked on "Tell the Truth" by Derek and the Dominos for almost the entire rehearsal....oh how we were ready to bust, if not strangle each other! But, your perfectionism made the last "take" shine as if it were Eric Clapton and Duanne Allman themselves. And oh how I loved our harmonies on "Time is on My Side!" You captivated us with your flying stories, and your breadth of musical knowledge. Oh how I wish that were true. I know you will smile down upon us whenever the next gig may be...we'll be looking up at you and hopefully playing more cowbell!!! Rest In Peace

Vinny, Although we only met twice, I felt as though you were a long time, near & dear friend. You were magical. I am blessed to have flown with you. I will honor your friendship and spirit forever! God bless you, your family and all whom you have touched during your very special lifetime... May God Bless You!!

Captain Vin, I would give anything to hear your voice boring me to death for twenty minutes about something that anybody else could say in thirty seconds. You are one of my Six, you know what that is. We'll take care of everything here for you, see you on the other side. Bill

I always looked forward to our conversations about flying. Every one of them showed how deep Vinny's knowledge was in every subject he talked about. It was also apparent how he strived to share his wisdom with every word he spoke. Vinny showed more passion about life in one week than what many people experience in an entire lifetime. He also knew how lucky he was in living his lifestyle and--most of all--appreciating that chance to live it. Thank you Vinny for sharing your time and thank you for showing us aspects of a life that we all can strive to emulate.

Vinny: Never got to meet you, but I have known your name and your involvement with my frinds The Baranaskas for many years. Hard to know what to say to someone that I have not met. But your inspiration to those I work with is very clear. You are missed my friend. Tj
